Installation Options
The TG-HG-8.5 is designed to mount using several Transducer Shield & Saver mounting systems depending on your boat configuration.
- Jack Plate Installation – Use with a compatible TSS L Bracket.
- Hole Shot Plate Installation – Use with a compatible TSS Wedge.
- Setback Installation – Use with a compatible TSS Wedge where the setback provides a suitable mounting surface.
- Trolling Motor Installation – Suitable for installation using appropriate stainless mounting clamps (not included).
Important Information
When mounted to a jack plate, setback bracket or hole shot plate, the transducer may lose bottom tracking once the boat is on plane because the transducer is no longer fully submerged. For reliable depth readings at planing speeds, Garmin recommends using an in-hull transducer.
