How It Works
Unlike rigid transducer mounts that can transfer impact directly into the transducer or mounting bracket, the SBB-5 uses two heavy-duty torsion springs to absorb impacts. If the transducer contacts an underwater object, the bracket pivots backwards before automatically returning to its original operating position once the obstruction has been cleared.
This greatly reduces the chance of damaging expensive sonar equipment while helping protect the transducer arm, mounting hardware and transom.

The included Stainless Steel Backing Plate allows the complete assembly to be built on the workbench before installation, making fitting significantly easier while eliminating the need to work underneath the boat during assembly.
